Opsmatic supports multiple social login providers for quick and secure authentication:

Google

Sign in with your Google account for seamless access

GitHub

Use your GitHub credentials to authenticate

How Social Logins Work

First-Time Social Login

When you sign in with a social provider for the first time:

Select Provider

Click on your preferred social login button (Google or GitHub)

Provider Authentication

You’ll be redirected to the provider’s login page

Grant Permissions

Approve the requested permissions for Opsmatic

Account Creation

Your Opsmatic account is automatically created using your social profile

Profile Sync

Basic information (name, email, avatar) is synced to your profile

Returning Users

For subsequent logins:
  • Click your social provider button
  • You’ll be automatically signed in if already authenticated with the provider
  • No additional permissions required

Google Login

What Information We Access

When signing in with Google, Opsmatic requests access to:
  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture
  • Google account ID (for linking)
  • Primary email for account identification
  • Used for notifications and account recovery

Google Account Requirements

  • Active Google account
  • Verified email address
  • Third-party app permissions enabled
If you’re using a Google Workspace account, your administrator may need to approve third-party applications.

GitHub Login

What Information We Access

When signing in with GitHub, Opsmatic requests:
  • GitHub username
  • Display name
  • Profile picture
  • Public email address
  • Primary email address
  • Verified email addresses

GitHub Account Requirements

  • Active GitHub account (free or paid)
  • At least one verified email address
  • OAuth applications enabled

Managing Social Connections

Viewing Connected Accounts

To see which social providers are connected to your account:
  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Click the Security tab
  3. View Connected Accounts section

Disconnecting Social Providers

Be careful when disconnecting social providers. Ensure you have alternative login methods configured.

Access Security Settings

Navigate to Profile Settings > Security

Find Connected Account

Locate the social provider you want to disconnect

Disconnect

Click Disconnect next to the provider

Confirm Action

Confirm the disconnection in the popup dialog

Adding Additional Social Providers

To connect additional social providers to your existing account:
  1. Go to Profile Settings > Security
  2. Click Connect next to available providers
  3. Authenticate with the social provider
  4. Grant necessary permissions

Troubleshooting Social Logins

Common Issues and Solutions

Causes:
  • Third-party apps blocked in your social account settings
  • Corporate/organizational restrictions
Solutions:
  • Enable third-party applications in your Google/GitHub settings
  • Contact your IT administrator if using organizational accounts
  • Try using a different browser or incognito mode
Causes:
  • An Opsmatic account already exists with this email
  • Email used with different authentication method
Solutions:
  • Try signing in with your existing authentication method
  • Use account recovery if you forgot your password
  • Contact support to merge accounts if needed
Causes:
  • Browser blocking redirects
  • Pop-up blockers interfering
  • Cached authentication state
Solutions:
  • Allow pop-ups for opsmatic.com
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily

Provider-Specific Troubleshooting

Google Account Suspended:
  • Ensure your Google account is in good standing
  • Check Google Account status page
Workspace Restrictions:
  • Contact your Google Workspace admin
  • Request approval for Opsmatic OAuth application
Two-Factor Authentication:
  • Complete 2FA with Google before attempting Opsmatic login
